SnowFest 2015 Announcement

As Convenor, I regretfully announce that The Caledon Agricultural Society (CAS) will not be hosting Caledon SnowFest on Family Day, February 16th , this year.

SnowFest was a tremendous success providing outdoor fun for the whole family, featuring Snow Mountain, The Firefighters Challenge, Snow Castle Competition, horse wagon rides, dog sled rides, snowshoeing, and great food provided by local service clubs and community groups in the Chilly Cook-Off.

This year’s event presented overwhelming challenges, and instead of presenting a flawed event, it was agreed at the CAS Annual General meeting to cancel the Event for 2015.

SnowFest can come back bigger and better for 2016. James Dick Construction (our lead sponsor), Caledon Fire and Emergency Services, Local Realtors, Local Community and Service Groups, Good Guys Carting Dogs, Caledon Hills Cycling and Nordic Centre, and The Orangeville Snowmobile Club remain firmly supportive.

The challenge is that we need to expand the Volunteer Team to plan, raise money, create awareness and prepare the grounds to host SnowFest. We require people beyond the Caledon Agricultural Society membership who can offer their administrative and marketing experience as well as physical commitment.

We thank the very dedicated people have contributed over the years in creating SnowFest, we just need more people and new energy to continue. Please contact myself or any member of the Caledon Agricultural Society if you would like to become involved.
