Welcome to SnowFest 2015!
Family Day - Monday, February 16th
The Caledon Agricultural Society is pleased to host the fourth annual SnowFest on Family Day February 16th, 2015 at the Caledon Fairgrounds in Caledon Village [map]
Snowfest was recently awarded the Tourism Event of the Year for the Hills of Headwaters for 2013.
The Feature Event is the FireFighter’s Challenge which this year will be a head to head competition including a semi-final and final race for the Trophy. We have invited neighbouring Fire Departments so the bar has been raised!
New this year is the Ambassador’s Competition which will engage youth from the agricultural community running a scaled down Challenge. We will also have Snow Angel Mania where all ages will be encouraged to make snow angels surrounding Snow Mountain; we are coming up with a unique way to take a picture to share… plus expect more surprizes!
Dedicated to healthy winter fun, exercise and competition for the entire family, SnowFest activities include: climbing Snow Mountain, snowshoeing, dog sledding, skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, chainsaw wood carvings, and snow castle competitions, plus a special winter 'Chilly' Cook-Off.
"Community engagement is paramount", says SnowFest convenor Tim Forster, with his invitation to all on community service clubs and associations, schools, fitness and sports clubs to get involved. “This is a great opportunity to have some friendly competition, meet new friends, and be outdoors”. "Our objective is to make SnowFest a much sought after annual event which brings lively participation from residents, young and old, support from community business leaders, and visitors from far and wide to Caledon for this winter tourism event" says Stan Dacres, President of the Caledon Agricultural Society.
